Published in the Journal of High Energy Physics, an international journal of particle physics, this paper covers the world's first search for dark photons in the decay of B mesons. Dark photons are unidentified particles that are believed to mediate U(1) gauge interactions that can exist between dark matter particles, and if the existence of dark photons is revealed by experiment, this means the existence of new physics beyond the standard model, and will be a major discovery in the history of particle physics.
The first author of this paper, Dr. Park Seok-hee(map: Professor Young-joon Kwon, contact author), analyzed the Belle experimental data to study the search for the reaction of B mesons to decay into two dark photons for the first time in the world, and determined the upper limit of the combination of dark photon generation ratio and Higgs particle and dark Higgs particle strabismus through the first experiment.
